National Scholarship Portal (NSP)
By Government of India
The single online portal where students apply for many central and state scholarship schemes. This guide shows how the portal works.
MasterMox does not offer or award any scholarship and is not affiliated with these providers. We only explain them in simple words. Always apply on the official website and never pay anyone to apply for you.
Who can apply
- Eligibility depends on the scheme. Each scheme has its own rules on class, income, category and marks.
- Use the public 'Check Eligibility' tool on the portal: it asks for your domicile state and optionally your board and percentage.
- From academic year 2026-27 you may apply for more than one scheme, but only one merit-based scheme per academic year. More than one welfare-based scheme is allowed if you are eligible.
What it covers
- Differs by scheme. The scheme's guideline on the portal lists what it pays.
How to apply
- Open scholarships.gov.in and choose 'Students', then log in under 'Apply For Scholarship'. You can sign in with Aadhaar, APAAR or OTR.
- Fill your basic information. Then go to 'Apply Fresh' to see the schemes the system finds for you, and generate your application ID.
- Choose a scheme, fill the form and upload the documents it asks for.
- Renewals are done separately from fresh applications.
Dates and amounts
Application dates and amounts change every year. Check the official page below for the current cycle before you apply. Each scheme has its own window on the portal.
